On Hating Gay Men

For the first time, after about three years of blogging, I received a series of messages in this blog directed against me and the whole gay community. The messages are in direct assault to us, gay men so I decided to reject them.

I allow all messages in this blog even if they are against my opinion or even if they lambast the movies that I write. But messages of hatred against my fellow gay men have no space in this blog.

Mr. gay hater, I am hoping that you read this post as well.

Ask yourself why is there so much hatred within you against gay men? Consider the fact that normal, psychologically healthy individuals do not harbor such hatred against the queer community. They may not agree with what we, gay men do with our sex lives, but they certainly do not go around reading gay blogs and composing letters of hatred against a minority population.

I challenge you to look within yourself and understand this source of hatred. This process may take some time but whatever its outcome, i assure you this will lead you to better self acceptance and understanding that the world around us is more complex and more diverse that we can actually comprehend.

The Commission on Election once denied the accreditation of the gay political group, Ang Ladlad because of its "immorality". In 2007, its chair Ben Abalos called Ang Ladlad phantoms and refused to accredit us. The clean man of Comelec is now charged wth graft by the Ombudsman.

Last year, Comelec commissioner Nicodemo Ferrer called "Ang Ladlad" immoral. Now, the holy man of Comelec is now suspected of allegedly making a phone call regarding cheating in the elections and of overpricing ballot secrecr folders.

Now, let the question be posed again. Who is immoral?

Sexy Men in Power

 The recent elections has brought two sexy men from showbiz to important local governemnt positions. First is Daniel Fernando as vice governor of Bulacan and second is re-elected Manila vice mayor Isko Moreno.

And for this reason, I just love this country more!

A Sauna Story

I was talking to a former employee of what used to be the "top gym" in the Philippines. The FTG (former top gym) in the early 90's, had a sauna and steam room that was notorious for gay cruising. For this reason, according to my source, the FTG management decided to close down all their sauna facilities citing the public danger of fire accidents it poses to its clients (can you actually find any sillier reason than that?)

Fast forward to 21st century, the gym market is dominated by Fitness First and Gold's Gym - all popular among gay men. And the former top gym? They are barely existent.
