Dropped Underwear

A while ago, a delectable, hunky "moreno" guy got inside a shower cubicle at the gym. His cubicle was right in front of the dry sauna where I was quietly seated. Deep inside of me, I was praying for this hunk to just open the door and show his glorious nakedness to me.

But of course, it never happened.

The hunk opened the door covered in towel as he exits the cubicle, I noticed he dropped something. I went out of the sauna and I realized he dropped his white bikini underwear.

My heart started to pound.Do i pick this up and keep it to myself and savor all his remnants just like Antonio (the character in Ang Lihim ni Antonio)? Do I pick it up and give it to him? But that might embarrass him.

After considering some very naughty options, I decided to keep it "straight". I ran after him and said. "Hey, I think you dropped something". He went back to the cubicle and gave me a nice, warm smile.

That Gay Church

Baclaran church is one of the iconic religious places in Metro Manila. Interestingly, it's first two syllables correspond to the word "Bakla" (gay man). Despite of my being an atheist, for over a year, I became a "devotee" of the church thanks to my former partner whose idea of a date begins with a Baclaran novena.

What's interesting in this church is that a good number of its devotees are gay men. During its most important day of the week, Wednesay, where all devotees flock to the church, one would notice a significant number of transgenders praying beside their boyfriends, groups of gay men quietly reading their novena booklets and even public sex cruisers hanging around at the rest room of the church.

I have always wondered, what's with Baclaran that it has gained a following among members of the gay community?

P.S. Enjoy your holy week holidays!

Naked at the Balcony

Anyone felt the 6.0 earthquake that shook Metro Manila? I was naked inside my room getting ready for my afternoon nap when I felt my bed shaking. I thought i was getting dizzy but I soon realized it was an earthquake. Living on the 33rd flor, the shaking was more pronounced and I ran to my balcony naked knowing that there was a greater chance of being rescued if our building collapses. Then, I realized I must be lucky because it is more cinematic to be rescued naked.

I waited. But our building didn't collapse.

Pulupot Trailer

Here's the trailer of my first collaboration with the controversial filmmaker of "Sagwan" and "Bayaw", Monti Parungao. Pulupot stars Survivor Philippines' Justine Ferrer, Echo Caceres, Justin De Leon (Ang Lalake sa Parola) and newcomer Gio Gapas. Written by yours truly, this film is produced by Treemount Pictures.

Opens April 28.

Sanctuario's Back

Robinsons Galleria decided to bring back the summer homoerotic film "Santuaryo" because the "straight romantic" film "Romeo and Juliet" didn't do well at the box office so they had to play a more "profitable" film. It's saddening to know that the general Filipino moviegoers don't really care about "straight" indies. They prefer Hollywood production values over the brazen and experimental narratives from local indies.

It's a good thing that we gay men are loyal patrons to movies that are made for us. Whether these films are good or bad, we always have the money to spare to pay for cinema tickets. And because of this, despite of our small number, we are able to sustain this tiny industry that we all enjoy.

Mabuhay ang baklang moviegoers! And in behalf of all filmmakers, thank you for patronizing these movies as we work very hard to come up with a decent production despite of the very little budget that we can afford to gamble on.

Jim Carrey's Gay Film

There's an interesting gay movie playing in theaters today, "I Love You Phillip Morris" starring Jim Carrey and Ewan Mc Gregor. These two actors deliver a fine performance as a gay couple with Jim Carrey playing a con artist bringing all sorts of fortune and trouble to their relationship.

Cab Flirt

I was hailing an old, white cab around Greenhills when a new green cab cut through right in front of me to have me as a passenger. The driver turned out to be a tall, good looking man in his late 20's. He was looking cool in his Oakley-like hugging shades and his well built arms maneuvering the steering wheel.

LEX: Buti na lang inunahan mo yung isang taxi. At least napunta ako sa guwapong driver.

The driver smiled looking flattered. A sexy lady tried to hail the cab, the driver remarked,

CAB DRIVER: Ang sexy nun! Sarap maging asawa. May asawa ka na ba?

LEX: Wala nga e. Wala din akong boyfriend.

CAB DRIVER: Talaga? Kawawa ka naman.

LEX: Oo nga e. Sayang lang ang galing ko sa pag-tsupa!

CAB DRIVER: Sarap yun. Magaling ka ba talaga?

LEX: Try mo. Kunin ko number mo?

We traded numbers. And I can't wait to see him again.

Jeff's Day

Happy Birthday to bold and daring actor Jeff Luna (Chub Chaser, Libido). Thanks for visiting my blog.
And I'm sorry I can't come to your party. It is very unfortunate that I don't get the chance to meet your neighborhood barkada, who according to you are also good looking.
Jeff Luna plays the role of Brando in our film, "Pulupot" which will run starting April 28.

Enjoy your party!

Pump

March 20, Saturday is the last day of shoot of Pulupot. We will be at Fields Ave., near Clark, Pampanga. There should be a lot humping and pumping again among the actors Justin De Leon, Jeff Luna and newcomer Gio Gapas -- just like this photo where Gio is rehearsing how to pump Justin from behind.

Looking back, I should have volunteered to be Justin's stand in for the rehearsals!

Briefs

“BRIEFS”

Sexy Boys on the Beach

Here are some lovely photos from talented photographer Ian Felix Alquiros taken on the set of that all-boy movie "Santuaryo".

Filmed by Survivor Philippines director Monti Parungao, I'm looking forward to this film because the boys get to learn how to survive in a desserted island almost naked as they learn to entertain themselves by playing with each other.

Get the drift? Now go now to Robinsons Galleria, Remar, Roben, Gotesco Grand Central, Isetann Cinerama, Gotesco Commonwealth or Cebu Ultravistarama because Santuaryo is Now Showing.

First Experience

My publisher friend is inviting Filipino men to share their first sexual encounter with another man through a narrative in English or Filipino for their erotic book "Unang Tikim". Email greymatter.publishing@gmail.com. Deadline is April 30, 2010.

Now, I'm trying to recall which among my early memories would constitute as my first sexual experience.

Check Your Testicles!

Acording to health experts, every month, we must check our testicles for some outgrowth. After a warm shower, roll each testicles between your thumb and index finger and check for some unusual bumps. If a tumor grows unchecked for at least 2 months, cancer could have metastasized (spread of cancer cells).

Any hot guys in need of help for some testicle check? Let me know.

Balls

I was passing by the north expressway when I read a barangay sign in Tarlac that says "Bola, Hindi Droga". It was obviously a message for young men to choose sports over illegal drugs.

To the young gay men in the baranggay, I say "Burat, Hindi Droga" (Choose Cocks. Not Drugs)

Gay City

Presidential candidate Manny Villar is reportedly throwing away billions of pesos to convince every Filipino to vote for him. And I was thinking if I had that money of Villar, what will I do with it?

I will build the Manila Gay City. Think of Eastwood or perhaps Rockwell where all residential units will be made affordable to all gay men. It will be the center of gay entertainment - Theaters, Cinemas, library, Blue bars, strip bars, bath houses are all here. All the workers in the area (security guards, waiters, butlers) are all buff and handsome and are all in their trunks! . There is also an upscale retirement home for gay men as well as a charitable home for the old and less privileged queer folks. The city will be a center of art and gay sexuality, it will be so decadent that it could put Sodom and Gomorrah to shame!

And I told myself, dream on, Lex!

"Mother"

Beauty Salon entrepreneur and gay icon Ricky Reyes, whom many people fondly call as "mother" was named by Forbes magazine as one of Asia's "Heroes of Philanthropy" for his bed and breakfast facility for indigenous children with cancer and for her soup kitchen for the victims of "Ondoy".

I had the opportunity to work with mother Ricky and I must say that I have personally witnessed his genuine concern for the poor and destitute. His charitable works and his entrepreneurial skills contniue to be a positive contribution to the public image of gay men which we must all be thankful for whether you are "parlorista" (loud and effeminate) or "discreet" (masculine).

Parisukat: Now Showing

Gay Businessman (Toffee Calma, in photo) is murdered and the investigation results in four conflicting versions as seen by people he loved and loathed. Directed by Jonison Fontanos, now showing exclusively at Robinsons Galleria.

Justin, Jeff & Gio

It was two long days of hard work for the cast and crew of "Pulupot". We have finished more than half of the film already. And we have yet to complete the last few scenes here in Manila for the final shooting day.

It was fun working again with Justin De Leon (in black shirt), who is again ready to work harder after a personal tragedy (the death of his mom has affected him so much). I was surprised to see daring actor, Jeff Luna (in red tank top and in white shirt) on the set whom I didn't know was part of the film until I came to the set. Jeff was very hard working and was well like by his co-actors. On the other hand, Gio Gapas (in towels) being a newcomer was very serious in his work as this was his first shooting experience.

Will be posting very revealing behind the scenes shots of "Pulupot" very soon. Meanwhile, let me get some more zzzzz's.

Are Gays Abusive?

Let me share with you a discussion on gay men and media in a yahoo group called "The Philippine Cinema". Several people have started their tirades against gay films.

Here's a letter from a certain John Paul Laxamana.

We're not pointing dirty fingers to gays. Only gays who use filmmaking as an excuse to get ambitious boys naked in front of camera. Lots of these movies are made for the pleasure of the director, not "for their own kind" (although that may be a secondary objective). Haha, oo nga naman, two birds in one stone, right?

It is this idealized "marginalization" of homosexuality kuno that encourages the sex-deprived homosexual to go out there and prey on objects of his fantasies. Because he knows that when he is criticized, he can always use this marginalization as shield. It reminds me of that Powerpuff Girls episode where Mojo Jojo complained that his animal rights were being violated, and cried that he was being "oppressed" whenever the Powerpuff Girls came to beat him up for doing crime.

But from what I see in media, gays are not very marginalized at all. They hold power in several institutions especially in mass media, including the movie industry. And some -- or a lot -- abuse this power. We don't even need to name names.

Only a sociologically ignorant person will deny this.

Bato bato sa langit

JASON

---------------------------------------------

And here's my reply:

Yes. it is true that many media executives are gay men. Many of the most internationally acclaimed Filipino filmakers are gay men - Brocka, Bernal, Mendoza. Some of the biggest brands are owned by gay men. And one of the most powerful business empires in this country is controlled by a gay man.

But here also some facts that we must not ignore. Gay men are not allowed party list representation in this country simply because we are "immoral" as stated by the Commission on Elections. Many male executives still have to hide in the closet just so they can easily move their way up in the corporate world, And even if we have domestic partners, we are not allowed to be make important medical decision on our partner's behalf simply because the Philippine law does not recognize same sex partnership.

With all these glaring facts, It is ignorant to say that the lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders are no longer marginalized in Filipino society.

You may accuse many powerful gay men of abuse and exploitation. But is this behavior unique to the queer population? Human beings whether straight or gay are capable of abusing their power, of corruption and of exploitation. It is not fair for anyone to attack the gay population just because some gay men use their position for sexual pleasures, which in fact, is a macho attribute in the first place.

As filmmakers just make movies and grow as an artist. And stop bothering yourself with things that should not matter to you (Leave the gay movies alone, if you are not gay!).

In the end, it is the future generation that will decide which films they want to honor and which of them they would rather forget.

Pulupot: Now Shooting

Right this moment, we are in Fields Ave., Clark, Pampanga shooting our film "Pulupot" directed by Monti Parungao. The film stars transexual TV personality Justin Ferrer (of Sruvivor Philippines), Justin De Leon (of Ang Lalake sa Parola) and newcomer Gio Gapas. Will be posting snapshots from the shoot really soon.

This is my first screenplay where my lead character is a transgender. I really hope I did justice to my beloved trannie sisters. And this is my first full length film with "Sagwan" and "Bayaw" filmmaker Monti Parungao (I did several direct to videos for him)

If you are in the area, please drop by :)

Doctor Blow Job

This good looking gastroenterologist in a Major Mall based clinic in Ortigas has a special way of giving a check up on his good looking patients. My hot moreno friend went to see him for some gastric pain. Doctor asked him to lie down and puts a stethoscope on his chest. DOctor asked him to take off his pants. Doctor begins to press every side of his belly asking if the area being pressed is painful as he closely listens to his hearbeat. After pressing the abdominal region, doctor begins to press to sides of the groins. The hearbeat of moreno hunk begins raise up, an erection follows. Doctor then presses on his crotcs, removes his underwear and gives him a nice, free blow job!

On Cris Pablo movies

To Lex Bonife:

I know that you are a film writer, sometimes bit actor and definitely you are on top in terms of promoting gay themed movies. By the way, I had seen all your movies and I will have to say that if only gay themed movies were done in the same fashion that your tandem with Mr. Altarejos were, I can say that we are indeed making progress.

Now, for the loaded question. And I am really hoping and expecting that you will not ignore this one. What is your personal opinion of the films/videos that Cris Pablo does? I have seen most, if not all of his videos and I and many of my friends and acquaintances and even those I do not know will say that his films really leave an insult to one's intelligence.

Tell me, is that really his intentions on why he directs/co-produces videos under the Queeriosity project?

Honestly, I go all out in supporting Filipinos who are involved in this advocacy. However, I have yet to meet someone who has genuinely liked a Cris Pablo film aside from having gotten the chance to see naked bodies of young Filipino men who in fact, even if for this criterion alone, his films/videos will still fail miserably because as I have said, it creates such an insult to one's senses.

Lex, I am waiting for your honest reply to this. Thank you.

Johnson Chua

--------------------------

Hi Johnson,

Thank you for supporting the Filipino gay film industry. And thank you for watching the movies that I have written.

And now to your "loaded" question, Cris Pablo, for me, has aesthetics of his own. I enjoyed watching several of his films like "Quick Trip", "Boylets" and "Bath House". Although some of his works were not particularly appealing for me. If you find his films intellectually insulting, by all means you may stop watching all his movies. That is your right as a consumer.

But personally, I will continue to watch his films because I appreciate the way he deconstructs gay relationships and how he pokes fun on our identity and our society through his film language which sometimes borders on absurdity. I like his "devil-may-care" attitude in filmmaking, how he breaks the rules of morality and the glossy standards of filmmaking.

Like a brave gay man who proudly defies standards of morality, Mr. Pablo's films openly break the rules of Hollywood gloss and production values.

I guess, Cris Pablo is just an acquired taste.

Thank you for writing and please continue to support Filipino gay films.

Will & Basti's Shower Scene

I was fortunate to preview the rough edit of "Santuaryo" and I was very excited with the shower scene of Will Sandejas and newcomer Basti Romero. Basti plays Archie, a paralyzed man who comes from an island tragedy who is being taken care of his physical therapist boyfriend Will Sandejas.

The scene where Will gives his boyfriend a bath is really hot with Will's hot "thingie" stealing the whole scene from a very tender moment.

Cross your fingers so the MTRCB will approve this scene. Santuaryo is showing on March 17 under Climax films. In photo is Basti Romero as taken by photographer Ian Felix Alquiros during the shoot of the film.
